Toronto police have released security camera photos of a suspect sought in connection with the theft of numerous paintings from a Toronto hospital.

According to police, a man removed nine framed prints from the Burton Wing of the Hospital for Sick Children Thursday evening.

The prints are described as square pictures with an alphabet letter on each piece.

A plaque with the artist's name, Darren Rigo, was also taken.

Police describe the suspect as white, six feet tall, with a medium build, dark brown hair and glasses with dark frames.

He was last seen wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and black shoes.

Police say he may have left the property in a light-coloured, four-door Mercedes.
