The name of the man who allegedly fired the bullet that shot and killed Jane Creba on in a 2005 Boxing Day shooting was named publicly today for the first time.

Milan Mijatovic,a close friend of the man alleged to have fired the bullet that fatally killed Creba, Jeremiah Valentine, took the stand Tuesday at the second-degree murder trial of J.S.R.

J.S.R. is on trial in connection with the Creba shooting and has been charged with six counts of attempted murder. J.S.R., 20, can't be named because he was 17 at the time of the shooting.

Valentine is one of three people charged with second-degree murder in connection with Creba's death. He's scheduled to go on trial next year.

Crown lawyers claim Valentine allegedly opened fire on J.S.R. and his group of friends.

But Mijatovic testified that he was alone in a Yonge Street store, without Valentine, and he does not know why shots were fired.

Mijatovic, who was wounded in the gunfire, describes Valentine as a close friend and fellow drug dealer. Mijatovic also says he was in a store doors away from the Foot Locker where the shooting took place.

But J.S.R.'s lawyer says it would be "magical" that the bullet which wounded Mijatovic evaded hundreds of people and struck Valentine's friend.

The trial continues.
