TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts made their first free-agent signing by adding safety Wes Lysack to a three-year deal Friday.

Lysack had 16 tackles and one sack with Calgary last season.

"Wes brings a veteran leadership to the Argos and has started a lot of games in this league," Toronto general manager and head coach Jim Barker said in a release.

"He is a smart, experienced player who knows the game and that knowledge can only help our defence and special teams."

The six-foot-one, 200-pound Edmonton native has spent most of his eight seasons in the CFL with the Stampeders while also including some time with Winnipeg.

Lysack, 32, won a Grey Cup with Calgary in 2008.
