A TTC executive has been fired for assisting his girlfriend in winning a $50,000 photography contract, a published report says.

John Cursio broke conflict of interest rules by helping Robin Thoen get a gig with the TTC shooting photos of public meetings and possible construction sites, the Toronto Star reports.

The Star also reports that Thoen has also been told by the TTC her services are no longer required.

The Transit Commission says it acknowledged there was a conflict of interest and polices are being reviewed.

Cursio was in charge of the design of three big "carhouses," managing consultant work and approving sub-consultants and invoices.
