A yellow advisory has been issued for Toronto as heavy fog descends on the city.
“Visibility along the shore of Lake Ontario is reduced in dense fog,” Environment Canada said in its advisory.
“Be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility and allow extra time to reach your destination.”
The advisory is also in effect in Oshawa, Ajax, Whitby, Pickering, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton.
Environment Canada says visibility should improve Wednesday morning as the fog dissipates.
Showers or thunderstorms are expected to move into the GTA on Wednesday, with 10 to 20 millimetres of rain possible by the evening.
The daytime high will be 29 C with a humidex of 37.
On Thursday, it will be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 26 C.
The sun returns on Friday in time for the Labour Day long weekend.
