TORONTO - A woman faces four charges after workers repairing fire damage at a Toronto highrise found an assault rifle in her closet.

Police say the entire building was evacuated and sealed off due to the Sept. 24 fire at 200 Wellesley Street East.

While residents were housed at other locations, Toronto Community Housing kept the building sealed off.

When repairs to the building were started, repair teams went from one unit to another.

Police allege that a worker doing repairs in one of the units found a white box in a closet, and upon opening the box found a Heckler and Koch model 91 semi-automatic assault rifle.

Shar-Dey Phipps-Walker, 22, of Toronto, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm and careless storage of a prohibited weapon.
