WINDSOR, Ont. - Here's a new twist on road rage.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm after an examiner at a Driver Examination Centre in Windsor, Ont., was beaten up.

Police say the 51-year-old examiner was assaulted on Wednesday afternoon after giving a 21-year-old woman a failing grade on her test.

As the examiner was heading across a parking lot to conduct another examination, the woman's boyfriend began punching him about the head.

The driver waiting to be examined jumped in and pulled the suspect off the examiner, who suffered several cuts to his face.

The suspect, from nearby Tecumseh, initially fled with his girlfriend but was arrested and charged on Thursday.

The unidentified suspect is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 26.
