Torontonians will have to wait a little bit longer for summer-like weather to arrive as the city marks one of the coldest post-long weekend stretches in nearly 20 years.
The long weekend kicked off with some balmy conditions, feeling like close to 30 on Friday when factoring in the humidity.
But any hopes for beach weather were dashed by rain and cooler temperatures for the remainder of the holiday weekend.
The chilly, wet weather is expected to continue this week.
CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said Toronto has not seen a stretch of weather this cold following the May long weekend since 2006.
Environment Canada is calling for cloudy skies and rain beginning near noon on Wednesday, as the temperature rises to a high of just 13 C.
Rain and an even chillier daytime high of 11 C is in the forecast on Thursday, which is only slightly warmer than daytime high back on May 22, 2006, when the mercury rose to just 10.7 C that day.
Friday will be slightly warmer, with a high of 15 C and a chance of showers.
Sunshine returns to the forecast on Saturday and Sunday, which will see a high of 18 C on each day respectively.
