Toronto’s most famous musician is collaborating with one of the city’s most famous chefs on a new King Street West restaurant.

Drake and Susur Lee ‘s new venture Fring’s officially opened to the masses with a star-studded launch party at its location on King Street West near Spadina Avenue on Monday night.

According to eTalk, Drake drove himself to the event in a Rolls Royce at around 8 p.m. and then proceeded to DJ for the crowd before celebrating with his mother Sandi and other members of his family.

Some of the stars in attendance for the kickoff included Drake’s rumoured girlfriend Serena Williams as well as Jada Pinkett Smith and Jaden Smith.

The nature of Drake’s involvement in the venture is not immediately clear but on Vine the Forest Hill-raised rapper posted a brief video promoting the opening of the restaurant.

The video was accompanied by a message congratulating Drake associate Angelo Ferraro and Susur Lee and his sons Kai and Levi on the project.

“So excited for the opening of Fring's in Toronto! Congrats to the family,” the rapper wrote.

The opening of Fring’s is Drake’s latest Toronto venture. In May the musician opened the Sher Club inside the Air Canada Centre and last December he opened a clothing store named OVO on Dundas Street West.
