TORONTO -- Apparently Canadians weren't eager to get back together with Robin Thicke.
The 37-year-old singer's latest album, "Paula," was a notable flop in its first week, selling a mere 550 copies in Canada according to numbers supplied to The Canadian Press by Nielsen SoundScan.
That's a far cry from the 13,000 units sold by Thicke's 2013 hit "Blurred Lines" in its first week of Canadian release.
The new album didn't fare much better Stateside, where Nielsen reported sales of 24,000.
"Paula" is dedicated to Thicke's estranged wife, actress Paula Patton, with confessional lyrics and song titles including "Get Her Back," "Still Madly Crazy," and "Too Little Too Late."
The Hollywood couple had been dating since they were teenagers, married in 2005 and announced their separation in February.
Thicke has been nominated four times at both the Grammy Awards and Junos, where the L.A. resident is eligible for nomination because he holds Canadian citizenship by virtue of his actor father, Alan.
Beyond the anemic sales, "Paula" has also received a chilly reception from critics.
The Los Angeles Times called the record a "failure" and a "virtual what-not-to-do guide for both songwriters and spurned lovers," the Atlantic deemed it "one of the creepiest albums ever made" and AllMusic pronounced "Paula" as Thicke's "least appealing album."
Thicke has one currently scheduled Canadian tour date: July 26 in Rama, Ont.
