A man in his 20s was shot dead late last night in North York and police are now looking for evidence that will lead them to a suspect.

The shooting happened just before midnight Thursday on Wycombe Road, at a retail plaza located on the west side of Keele Street, just south of Sheppard Avenue.

The man was found on the ground without vital signs near the doorway of a pharmacy.

An official with the Toronto Paramedics Service told CP24 the victim was rushed to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead in hospital.

Though initial police reports suggested that officers were looking for a suspect who fled the scene in a dark-coloured vehicle, officials say they do not have a description of the suspect at this time.

However, Det. Robert Choe told CP24 from the scene that there are multiple security cameras in the mall and that investigators would be going through them for additional information.
