ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Mark Mancari scored a hat trick as Rochester defeated the Toronto Marlies 5-1 in American Hockey League play Friday for the Americans' fourth straight victory.

Kevin Porter and Evan Rankin also scored for Rochester (23-15-3), while defenceman Brayden McNabb added three assists.

The win moved Rochester within one point of the third-place Marlies in the packed North Division.

The Americans led 4-0 before Jerry D'Amigo scored for Toronto (23-14-4) at 15:24 in the third period.

Mancari meanwhile completed his hat trick with a power-play goal in the dying seconds of regulation.

Rochester goaltender David Leggio made 27 saves, while at the other end Jussi Rynnas allowed all five goals on 29 shots.
