Police have made another arrest in connection with a string of violent robberies targeting female sex-trade workers in Toronto.

All five robberies, which took place between Oct. 25 and Dec. 9, occurred at hotels within the GTA.

Police previously said that the robberies began with a suspect contacting an escort and posing as a potential client to set up an appointment. The suspect would then arrive with multiple other suspects, who would force their way into the hotel room. From there, police said the group would assault the escort, ransack the room and steal whatever valuables they could find before fleeing the scene.

Two men and a teenage girl have already been arrested in connection with the robberies and police said that another arrest was made on Monday.

Paul Williams, 21, of Toronto, has been charged with eight counts of robbery, three counts of using a disguise with intent, six counts of forcible confinement, kidnapping, gang sexual assault, assault with a weapon and six counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

Police say one female suspect and one male suspect are still outstanding.
