It is going to be humid start to the weekend and a busy one as well as mayoral candidates continue to react to Karen Stintz's decision to pull out of the race and the Canadian National Exhibition and BuskerFest take place. Here is a full list of what is going on around the GTA:

Weather:

The unstable weather will continue with a 40 per cent of showers later this afternoon and a risk of isolated thunderstorms. The predicted high for today is 24 C.

News:

Police are investigating a trio of suspicious dumpster fires that occurred outside Scarborough schools overnight.

All residents managed to get out safely after a car lost control, crashed into an Oshawa home and then burst into flames early at around 1:15 a.m. Crews from Enbridge had to be called to the scene to stop a gas leak resulting from the collision.

Traffic:

Yonge Street will be closed from Richmond Street to Gerrard Street for BuskerFest. After 6 p.m., Yonge Street will also be closed from Gerrard Street to College Street.

Events:

Ryerson University is holding a memorial to mark the third anniversary of the death of former NDP leader Jack Layton. The event, titled "Living Jack's Legacy," gets underway at 12:30 p.m. at the George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre.

The Zac Brown Band will wrap up a two-night stand at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. The show gets underway at 7 p.m.

The Canadian National Exhibition continues its 18-day run. Tonight the 80s band Platinum Blonde will perform at the Bandshell. For a full listing of rides, shows, and pavilions follow this link.

The Scotiabank BuskerFest takes place along Yonge Street with hundreds of street performers taking part. The annual event raises money for Epilepsy Toronto.

Sports:

The Blue Jays host the Tampa Bay Rays at the Rogers Centre. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. Marcus Stroman will be on the mound for the Jays
