The deaths of three people whose bodies were found in an apartment in East York is being treated as a multiple homicide, according to Toronto Police Service.

The bodies were discovered around 4:45 p.m. Saturday in an apartment building on Thorncliffe Park Drive, near Don Mills Road and the Don Valley Parkway. Police said they are not revealing the ages, sex or identities of the victims until their next of kin has been identified.

“The homicide squad has become involved in an investigation that involves three victims at this apartment building,” Det. Tam Bui said. “There is some correlation to an event that happened earlier on in the city. The exact connection is unknown at this time and it is currently under investigation.”

The other event the detective is alluding to is believed to be the death of a man who fell off the Leaside Bridge on to the DVP around 1:10 p.m.  He landed on a car and died of his injuries at the scene.

A confidential police source told CP24 that officers went to the man’s home and that’s where they found the three dead bodies.

A resident of the Thorncliffe Park apartment building told CP24’s Travis Dhanraj that two police officers were frantically trying to break into a green minivan on the second level of the underground parking garage when he arrived home in the afternoon.

Supt. Scott Gilbert said on Twitter that police are not looking for any suspects at this time.

“Very sad news out of Thorncliffe this evening,” Gilbert tweeted. “Investigation is continuing. No suspects are currently sought for this horrendous crime.”

Police expect to be collecting evidence and speaking to witnesses at the Thorncliffe Park apartment building for a few days. The southbound DVP was closed at Eglinton Avenue for almost eight hours while police investigated.
