The TTC is inspecting 88 of its buses for faulty wiring after the Quebec-based manufacturer of the vehicles warned that wear and tear on an alternator cable could increase the risk of fire.

Nova Bus recently issued a recall on upwards of 1,500 buses outfitted with the part but TTC Spokesperson Brad Ross told CP24 on Friday that the recall is precautionary and so far “no issues” have been found with TTC buses.

The effected buses run primarily on the 7 Bathurst and 29 Dufferin routes and went into service last December, according to Ross.
