WINDSOR, Ont. -- A Windsor-area man has been sentenced to 14 months in jail and three years probation after pleading guilty to a charge of making child pornography available.

Robert Denza was one of several men arrested and charged in 2011 following a joint forces child sexual exploitation investigation.

In handing down the sentence, Justice Bruce Thomas pointed out that there is a one-year mandatory minimum for the charge and that the term imposed is only slightly above that.

He cited the fact that Denza pleaded guilty, had no previous record and did not breach bail conditions as mitigating factors.

Court was told police discovered 328 images on a computer and 34 videos.

Denza's lawyer said his client had been sexually abused as a child and had an alcohol problem.

The judge said the lengthy probation period was imposed so that Denza could complete counselling to help with his problems.
