Two men and a woman face a total of 19 charges in connection with a human trafficking and juvenile prostitution investigation.

According to police, a 17-year-old girl was assaulted, threatened and forced into becoming a prostitute.

The teen was then transported between hotels in Mississauga and Scarborough for the purpose of prostitution, police said.

All of her money, phone and other personal possessions were taken, and she was kept against her will in hotel rooms under constant guard.

Last Thursday afternoon, three suspects, all from Toronto, were arrested by police in connection with their investigation.

Michael Campbell, 30, faces a total of 10 charges, including trafficking in persons, forcible confinement, procuring a person to become a prostitute, and uttering a death threat.

Twenty-three-year-old Timothy Hewton faces four charges, including living on the avails of juvenile prostitution, trafficking in persons, and use of an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.

Serena Timbury Welcome, 20, is charged with five offences, including trafficking in persons, forcible confinement, and living on the avails of juvenile prostitution.

All three were scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.

Police believe there may be more victims.
