A baby who was born at 24 weeks after his mother was murdered remains in stable but serious condition, according to Toronto police.

Police gave the public an update on the child’s condition Thursday afternoon along with funeral details for the deceased 35-year-old woman.

The visitation and funeral for Candice Rochelle Bobb will be held today and tomorrow, the statement said.

The family has asked the media give them some privacy.

Bobb, who is the mother of three children, was shot dead on May 15, while sitting in a car with friends in Jamestown. The group had just dropped off someone at home when someone fired several shots into the vehicle.

Bobb, who was 24 weeks pregnant at the time, was pronounced dead shortly afterwards but emergency crews were able to perform an emergency C-section and save her baby boy.

The three other people in the vehicle escaped injury.

Police have not made an arrest in connection with the case and have not released a description of a suspect.
