A 36-year-old man missing since last month was found dead early Monday morning, Toronto police have confirmed.
Murray Abbott was last heard from on April 25 at 10:30 p.m. in the Queen Street East and Luety Avenue area, police previously said.
Confirmation of Abbott’s death Monday night comes following the discovery of a man’s body in shallow water behind a water treatment plant in the city’s east end Monday morning.
Toronto police Const. Victor Kwong confirmed to CP24 Monday night that the body found was that of Abbott.
A jogger spotted the body about 100 metres east of the R.C. Harris Water Filtration Plant near Queen Street and Victoria Park Avenue at around 6:40 a.m.
Additional details on the cause of death were not provided by police.
