A 21-year-old man is facing a string of charges after a deadly collision in Scarborough on Monday night.

Police say the man was travelling south on Military Trail when he collided with another vehicle in the intersection at Ellesmere Road at around 7 p.m.

The 25-year-old driver of the other vehicle was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Matthew Habte, of Toronto, is charged with dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, impaired driving causing death and refusal to provide a breath sample causing death.
