City residents will have fewer places to go for a skate after today as nearly two dozen outdoor rinks close for the season.

Last week the city secured funding from corporate sponsors to keep an additional 12 rinks open for another month, but there was not enough money to keep another 23 rinks slated to close open and therefore skaters will have their final chance to use those facilities today.

A total of 29 rinks, including the 12 that are being funded by corporate sponsors, will remain open until March 22.

It costs about $4,500 per week to keep each skating rink open.

  • Rivercrest Rink
  • Regent Park (North Park)
  • Queensway Rink
  • Prince of Wales Rink
  • North Toronto Memorial CRC/Eglinton Park
  • Monarch Park
  • Lambton-Kingsway Rink
  • Joseph Bannon Park
  • Jimmie Simpson Park
  • Buttonwood Park
  • Campbell Avenue Playground
