Toronto police are exploring the possibility that an east-end restaurant was broken into before a fire broke out early Wednesday morning.

The two-alarm fire occurred at the Lebanese Nights Restaurant, located in a strip plaza near Lawrence Avenue East and Warden Avenue, at about 2 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, the interior of the building was engulfed in flames, but fire crews were able to quickly bring the blaze under control.

A neighbouring business also sustained some damage, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
