Toronto police say a 75-year-old woman died after suffering an injury on board a TTC bus in Etobicoke.

Toronto police's traffic services unit is investigating the incident, which occurred at around 3:16 p.m. on Friday.

According to police, the elderly woman boarded the 76A Royal York South bus at Royal York Road and Manitoba Street.

The woman, police say, suffered an injury while on the bus and was rushed to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Const. Clint Stibbe said investigators have video footage from the bus but said police will not be releasing any more information at this time.

The cause of death has not been determined and Stibbe said it is not known if the woman suffered from a medical condition.

Police say there were approximately 20 to 25 passengers on the bus at the time of the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
