A father and daughter onboard a small plane that crashed 15 kilometres east of Orangeville Friday afternoon made it out of the aircraft uninjured, Dufferin County OPP say.

Const. Paul Nancekivell said the small plane went down sometime before 12:30 p.m., near the Rainbow Ridge Resort off of Dufferin County Route 109 in East Garafraxa Township.

Nancevkivell said the plane clipped a hydro pole and narrowly missed a camping trailer as it came down, but the plane stayed intact upon impact.

Paramedics assessed both occupants at the scene and did not transport either to hospital. Nancekivell said the daughter suffered a sore leg.

The single-engine, four-seat plane took off from an airstrip in nearby Grand Valley, Ont., and was on its way to Ottawa when it encountered unspecified mechanical problems, police said.

Investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are on their way to probe the incident.
