Fire crews were called to a recycling facility in Mississauga overnight after a chemical reaction was reported.

It happened at a facility located near Avonhead Road and Royal Windsor Drive at around midnight.

It is unclear exactly what led to the incident but speaking to CP24 Wednesday morning, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services Platoon Chief Gord Smith said no one was working at the facility at the time.

No injuries were reported.

For a period of time, a warning was issued for people in the area to stay inside and keep their windows closed. That order has since been lifted.
