A tractor-trailer fire shut down part of Canada’s busiest highway for nearly seven hours Thursday morning.
Highway 401’s eastbound lanes were closed between Harmony and Courtice roads in Oshawa until 7:30 a.m.
The fire was extinguished when firefighters arrived, but the lanes remained closed until crews cleaned up the mess and removed the damaged tractor trailer.
No one was seriously injured.
