A 27-year-old woman was rushed to hospital via emergency run after she was extricated from underneath a TTC bus on the campus of York University Friday afternoon.

The woman became trapped after she was struck by the bus at a stop near Ian MacDonald and York boulevards at around 1:15 p.m.

Emergency crews then used blocks to raise the bus off the ground, allowing them to reach the woman and load her onto a stretcher at around 1:50 p.m.

“We slowly inched the vehicle upwards and as we did it each time we put a block of wood underneath to support the weight (of the vehicle),” Fire Captain Stephan Powell told CP24.

According to Toronto Paramedic Services, the woman has serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic Services is investigating.
