Five people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle head-on crash in Caledon Monday night.

Caledon OPP said the collision occurred sometime before 6 p.m. Monday in the area of Highway 9 and Coolihans Side Road in Caledon.

Five occupants of the pair of vehicles required extrication and were taken to hospital. One person is in critical condition, OPP said.

The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit was probing the scene. Highway 9 between Airport Road and Humber Station Road will be closed for several hours as police investigate.
