Charges have been laid against a 48-year-old man accused of sexually abusing two young girls, Toronto police say.

Officers made the arrest Aug. 31, but they continue to investigate because they believe there may be additional victims, police said in a news release Tuesday.

A suspect, 48-year-old Toronto resident Joseph Danny Stevenson, is charged with five counts of sexual assault.

Investigators released two photos of Stevenson – one from 1993 and one from 2012.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Det. Gord McNeilly or Det. Const. Stacey McCabe at 416-808-1200, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
