A man wanted in connection with a brutal murder in Toronto two years ago has been arrested in Alberta.

George Fawell, 24, was found dead along railroad tracks behind the Jimmie Simpson Community Centre on Queen Street East, east of Broadview Avenue, in August 2012.

An autopsy confirmed Fawell died as a result of stab wounds to the chest and chopping wounds to the neck and head, and that he was likely attacked by multiple people who used two different weapons.

The injuries were so extensive it took about 12 hours to complete an autopsy, police said.

Fawell's hands were tied behind his back when his body was found, a source previously told CP24.

Michael Martins, 52, of Medicine Hat, Alta., is charged with aggravated assault and forcible confinement.

He is currently being held for a bail hearing and will subsequently be transported back to Toronto.

On April 4, 2013, 39-year-old Lori Ann Crook was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and forcible confinement in connection with the case.

Ashley Andrews, 28, of Toronto, was arrested May 2, 2013, and charged with accessory after the fact to murder, two counts of obstructing justice, failing to comply with probation, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of cocaine and marijuana.
