A 25-year-old man has been charged after police say he allegedly tried to shoot cellphone photos of women in the bathroom of a Queen Street business earlier this month.

According to police, it happened in the area of Queen and Shaw streets at around 2 p.m. on May 17.

Investigators say a man walked into a business in the area, went to the women’s washroom and was seen taking photos on his cellphone underneath stalls that were in use.

Less than a week after police released a photo and description of the man, investigators say they were able to identify a suspect.

Toronto resident Lyle Waite, 25, is facing two counts of voyeurism, escaping lawful custody and failing to comply with probation in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
