A man died in hospital Saturday morning after he was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle in north Milton, Halton Regional Police say.

Sometime before 12:50 a.m. Saturday, a staff sergeant from Halton Regional Police said two vehicles collided head-on in front of 9430 Guelph Line in Milton.

The drivers of each vehicle had to be extricated from their vehicles.

One driver, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Hamilton General Hospital via land ambulance with unknown injuries.

Another driver, a 48-year-old man, was taken via Ornge air ambulance from Milton Hospital to Hamilton General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Guelph Line was closed for several hours between Campbellville Road and 10th Sideroad to allow for cleanup and a police investigation.
