A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an apartment fire in the city’s east end Wednesday night.
The blaze broke out in the kitchen of a sixth floor unit in a building on Birchmount Road near St. Clair Avenue at around 9:15 p.m.
According to Toronto Fire, the man suffered burns to his body but was able to walk out on his own.
The fire did not spread to any other units.
