Toronto police have released security video of a suspect sought following a vicious assault that occurred in the Entertainment District in November.

On Nov. 20 police responded to an assault in the King and Peter streets area.

According to police, two groups of people – one celebrating a birthday and the other celebrating a victory by Brazil in a soccer match against Chile – met on the King Street sidewalk.

The group watching the soccer game had been celebrating at the Studio Event Theatre at 333 King St. W., police said.

While on the sidewalk, a woman from the soccer group fell. The woman’s boyfriend, believing that she had been assaulted, confronted and struck the 32-year-old man he thought was responsible.

The man fell to the ground where he was kicked in the head by the woman’s boyfriend, police said.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the attack.

The boyfriend fled the scene with friends in an unknown vehicle following the assault.

Police describe the suspect as Chilean or South American, five-foot-eight to five-foot-10, with a thin-to-medium build. He was speaking French, police said.

He was last seen wearing a varsity jacket with a navy blue body and white leather sleeves with “MMXIII The Billionaire Boys Club” written on the back in white letters.

Police believe he may be from the Montreal area.
