One man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough Sunday night.

The accident happened at around 6 p.m. near Pharmacy and Sheppard avenues as a 24-year-old man was driving a 2015 Land Rover Evoque eastbound on Sheppard Avenue.

Police said an 80-year-old man was attempting to cross Sheppard Avenue East, from the north side to the south side when he was struck. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Sheppard Avenue was closed from Palmdale Drive to Pharmacy Avenue as police investigated the fatal incident.

Anyone with infornation about the fatal incident is being asked to contact police.
