A man and woman from Toronto are facing numerous charges after they allegedly trafficked three teenage girls and forced them to perform sex work in a downtown Ottawa hotel.

Investigators from Ottawa say that on Monday, officers located a “criminal enterprise offering sexual services” inside a hotel room in the city’s downtown.

Sgt. Jeff Leblanc told CP24 that the investigation was prompted by a request from Peel Regional Police, who received information that a minor may have been taken to the hotel against her will.

Further investigation found that three teenage girls, aged 15, 16, and 17, were allegedly brought from the Toronto area and forced to perform sex work.

Suspects identified as Michael Poku, 27 and Madison Boucher, 19, each face numerous charges including three counts each of trafficking in persons under 18 and three counts each of advertising another person’s sexual services.

Both suspects remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
