A man and a woman were rushed to a trauma centre after a motorcycle collided with a car and struck a pedestrian near Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue East Sunday evening.

The incident happened at Yonge Street and Pleasant Boulevard shortly before 5:30 p.m., police told CP24.

Witnesses told police they saw three motorcycles travelling north on Yonge Street in an aggressive manner prior to the incident.

“As they approached Pleasant Boulevard there was a vehicle travelling southbound attempting to make a left-hand turn. He may or may not have been able to see the motorcyclists coming,” Sgt. Paul Strangways told CP24 at the scene. “As he made his turn he clipped one of the motorcyclists who subsequently lost control, clipped the curb and struck a pedestrian.”

Police said the rider was thrown from the motorcycle when the vehicles collided.

Paramedics transported a man in his late 40s and a woman in her late 50s to a trauma centre. Both were transported with critical injuries, EMS said.

Police are currently interviewing witnesses at the scene. A collision reconstruction team is also investigating the incident.
