The honeymoon may be over for Justin Trudeau and the federal Liberal party.

According to a new Ipsos-Reid poll for CTV News, the Tories now enjoy 32 per cent support among decided voters compared to 31 per cent for the Liberals, 26 per cent for the NDP and 3 per cent for the Green Party. About 12 per cent of voters are undecided.

The percentage of respondents who said they would vote Liberal if a vote was held today was down two per cent from the last poll and six per cent from the high-water mark shortly after Trudeau’s election as Liberal leader in May.

“This is now a very tight three-way race and the thing that has really changed over time is the ceiling for the NDP used to be around 20 per cent and now it is up around 25 and being at 25 denies the Liberals that extra little boost that they need to get past the Tories," Ipsos-Reid CEO Darrell Bricker told CP24 Saturday morning. "As long as those two progressive parties remain separated it makes it possible for the Conservatives to keep getting re-elected."

The poll surveyed 1,305 Canadians online between Sept. 18 and 20 and is considered accurate to within +/-3.5 percentage points.
