One male worker has been pronounced dead and another is in serious condition after an elevated lift collapsed at a work site in Markham Thursday morning.
According to York Regional Police, the men were working in a lift near Birchmount Road and Enterprise Boulevard at around 7 a.m. when the accident happened.
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been disclosed and the Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate.
The second worker injured in the accident is expected to survive.
Police have not released the name of the man who was killed.
