A 28-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash on the off ramp from the westbound lanes of Highway 401 to Keele Street, Ontario Provincial Police confirm.
The driver of the black BMW sedan lost control of the vehicle shortly after 2 a.m., went over a grass median and struck a piece of heavy construction equipment that was parked beside the ramp.
The driver was rushed to hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The ramp was closed for several hours as an investigation was conducted.
