Durham Regional Police are investigating after one person was shot inside a home in Pickering this morning.
It happened shortly before 4 a.m. at a residence on Glen Eden Court.
Officers were called to the home after receiving a call about an armed person inside and witnesses said they heard gunshots coming from inside the house.
Police say one 27-year-old male victim was rushed to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but was later transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
His injuries are considered to be serious.
The area has been closed off as police investigate and no arrests have been made at this time.
