Police say an arrest has been made after a woman alleged she was sexually assaulted by the owner of a company she hired to install a fence at her home about a decade ago.

In 2006, police say the woman hired a company to build a wrought iron fence at her house, located in the area of Scarlett Road and Dundas Street West.

This summer, investigators say the woman contacted the company to repair damage to the fence and the owner sent one of his employees to do the job.

On July 9, about one month after the work was completed, police say the owner of the company showed up at the woman’s home unexpectedly and asked for payment for the repair.

When the woman paid the man for the work, investigators say the man asked the woman if she was interested in selling the house and requested a tour.

Police say the alleged sex assault occurred while the woman was showing him around the residence.

Investigators say the woman was able to run to the front door, where she demanded that the man leave.

She immediately notified police about the incident.

Later that day, police say a suspect was arrested in connection with the case.

Toronto resident Alberto Costa, 49, has been charged with sexual assault.

Police say they are concerned there may be other victims and ask anyone with information to contact police at 416-808-1200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
