City inspectors have been called to a downtown high-rise after a pane of glass fell from the building and smashed onto the sidewalk below early Sunday morning.

The glass fell from the Shangri-La Hotel on University Avenue near Adelaide Street at around 1:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported as a result.

Police say they have not yet determined what part of the building the glass fell from or how it was dislodged in the first place.

This is the third time in the last year that glass has fallen from the building.

Adelaide Street was closed between University Avenue and Simcoe Street, but reopened at around 10:30 a.m.
