Toronto police were called in to investigate after a 50-year-old woman was found dead on Elmer Avenue, north of Queen Street East and Woodbine Avenue, in the city's Beaches neighbourhood.

Staff Sergeant Lee Ann West said they received a call at 10:38 Friday night. Upon arrival, police and paramedics found the woman in the home, located at 65 Elmer Avenue. She was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Police originally said the death was suspicious in nature, because "of what was located at the scene," but would not elaborate on what investigators had found.

However police later said the death is no longer considered suspicious.
