Police have identified a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting near Yonge-Dundas Square over the weekend.

At around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, police say two men were involved in a verbal confrontation near the southwest corner of Yonge Street at Dundas Street East.

At one point during the altercation, police say one of the men took out a firearm from the waistband of his pants and fired four shots, injuring the other man.

A stray bullet struck another man who was standing in Yonge-Dundas Square at the time.

The suspect fled the area before police arrived on scene.

Both victims were treated in hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police have identified the suspect as 22-year-old Alfredo Blass, of Toronto.

Images of the suspect have also been released by investigators.

Blass has been described by investigators as about five-foot-nine, 160 pounds with a medium complexion. Police also say the suspect has a tattoo of the word "Yoanis" on his left upper arm. 

Police say Blass is wanted for two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, reckless discharging of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, carrying a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of a firearm knowing that its possession is unauthorized.

Police say Blass is considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should call 9-1-1 immediately if they spot him.
