Police are investigating after a man was robbed of a small amount of cash and stabbed in the stomach north of Toronto’s Downsview neighbourhood Saturday night.
A staff sergeant from Toronto police’s 31 Division said the man was walking alone in the area of Grandravine Drive and Derrydown Road sometime before 6:20 p.m. Saturday when he was approached by a group of approximately five teenaged males who asked for his money.
The victim was stabbed in the stomach and the suspects made off with a very small amount of cash, police said.
Toronto paramedics took the victim to a hospital trauma centre and described his injuries as serious but non-life-threatening.
