Police are investigating after a gas station and a Tim Hortons were both held up at gunpoint in Scarborough early Monday morning.

The gas station at the corner of Kingston Road and Midland Avenue was held up at around 3:30 a.m. by two masked suspects, one of which was armed with a handgun.

According to police, the two suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Following that robbery, police say two suspects robbed a Tim Hortons on Midland Avenue near Finch Avenue. One of the suspects in that robbery was also armed with a handgun.

The suspects had their faces covered with bandanas during the robbery.

Police say it is not immediately clear whether the two robberies are related.
