Police say a fire that engulfed an outdoor playground at a Scarborough elementary school is being treated as arson.
The blaze broke out at a playground outside St. Agatha Catholic Elementary School near Kingston and Brimley roads at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
By the time crews got the fire under control a short time later, about half the playground had burned to the ground, according to police.
The total cost of the damage is not known.
