Presto card readers will begin appearing on some TTC buses on Monday as the rollout of the system continues.

According to TTC Spokesperson Brad Ross, crews will first begin installing the readers on buses that operate out of the Queensway garage before installing them on buses that operate out of other TTC garages.

Ross says that 20 buses will be outfitted with Presto readers as of Monday and all 1,895 TTC buses will be Presto-enabled by the end of 2016.

The TTC previously outfitted all of its streetcars with Presto readers in December.

Work is also underway to ensure that all subway stations are equipped with Presto readers by the end of 2016.

Currently commuters can pay with Presto at 27 of the TTC’s subway stations, including most of the stations in the city’s downtown core.
